Happy Birthday Mod Style

This card was made for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge # 107. Amber Ink is the sponsor this week and that is where I got all these fun digi's. I combined "Hostess with the Mostess" and "Mod Kitchen" to make the scene. 6 different images were used and about 10 of the same one to make the wallpaper in the background. I went a little crazy but it was so fun to create. I hope you can hop over to SSW, you have 5 hours left, lol. Sorry, I am usually a little more timely, but if you don't make this one they will have a new one tomorrow and they are always wonderful!! I hope you are having a fantastic Tuesday :)

Happy 4th- CTO #20

It is time to Celebrate the Occasion with Challenge # 20- 4th of July (red, white and blue). For my project I made some S'more sets to hand out for my kids, so, so easy. I cut a 6x6 and folded it in half, put the goodies into a sandwich bag and stapled the folded section on. I then designed my image and sentiment on a 2.5x3 and glued it on top of the staples. Fun and easy for everyone to enjoy. Excuse the scrunched up group picture, they just wouldn't stand up and I wanted you to see the group, so well they are scrunched ;) Don't forget to hop over to CTO and join in on the challenge, I would absolutely love to see all of your projects!! I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful night :)

Tiddly Inks is having there Challenge # 55- Sugar and Spice with a twist (sarcastic or humorous card). I used Tiddly Inks cute "Prince Charming" digi that was a freebie and made the sentiment in Photoshop "I guess this is as close as your going to get". I am on the brink of the deadline, but you still may have time to get your entry in. If not stop by tomorrow for the new challenge, she really has wonderful challenges and digi's to work with!! It is Critter Sketch Challenge time and this months sponsor is the wonderful "Stampfairy.com". This weeks challenge #71 is a recipe- 2 different colors of cardstock, 1 prima or paper flower, 1 image and 1 sentiment. I used the cute "Herb Summer" and a flower freebie from "Stamp Fairy" and paper pierced part of the bear and blanket to match the cardstock.

I am also entering this into the Stamp Fairy Challenge #29- A Teddy Bear Picnic, use must use a Stamp Fairy Bear Image and 2 Ribbons, 3 Flowers and 1 Sentiment. Both weeks I have gotten really lucky in that the image I chose worked for the challenge at Stamp Fairy. I posted both cards because the one below has an added ribbon under the flowers. I do have 3 flowers stacked, but the 3 flowers behind the bear will also work because that is an added digi by "Stamp Fairy" . Hop over and join in on the challenges, you never know you could be a lucky winner! I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful Monday :)

One Creative Momma's Blogoversary Blog Hop

Good morning everyone and welcome to Yvonne's 1 year Blogoversary Blog Hop. I am excited to celebrate her 1 year with her and wish her many more to come!! You should have arrived here from the talented Yvette's, if you are just coming here you will want to start at the beginning at Yvonne's and hop through so you can see the wonderful creations and yummy candy! Of course the theme is Birthday projects, so onto the card.

I was inspired in Target when I saw this little envelope with some candles in it, to write handwritten sentiments. So I made this 6x6 card and put a handmade envelope with pull out candles to hand write 10 things to love about birthdays. I made the candles and the numbers using the Cricut Cartridge "Birthday Bash" and then drew some lines on the bottom part to write the sentiment. There are 10 candles in the envelope, all numbered, same as the pictured one.

Now onto some fun blog candy!!

All you have to do is leave a comment and I would love for you to follow but is not necessary and a way to get a hold of you. A winner will be drawn on Monday 27th through random.org.

Now you are onto the lovely Doris and if you get lost along the way the list is below! Have a wonderful day :)

Dad

I made this card for Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge # 106 and A Day for Daisies challenge # 106- It's a new.... I felt it was only fitting to showcase the wonderful digital stamp that I won from the SSW #100 Blog Hop Celebration by A Day for Daisies for these 2 challenges. I still can't believe I won but, I was able to choose any picture I wanted and she made it into this wonderful digi. I usually don't post pictures of my kids, a little paranoid I know, but I thought you should see the original picture and how wonderful her work is. It is my favorite picture, they all are so happy, they just got done having a water fight. I felt it was the perfect picture and the perfect thing to use for Father's Day! My kids were so excited, they felt they were super stars. I let them pick the color they wanted there clothes to be, it actually was hard to color them because they are my kids, weird huh but I have never colored someone I know. Anyways, enough babbling, I used the wonderful sketch below from SSW and made this wonderful card. He loved it and told me it was a keepsake. All the papers are from Basic Grey, they make wonderful masculine colored papers! So hop over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and A Day for Daisies to look at there wonderful creations and join in on the fun! I hope you enjoy and all you Dad's out there have a wonderful Happy Father's Day!!!

Award time

I want to thank Gloria from "Girlia's Cards" and Carri from "DoubleClick Connections" for my yummy award. I actually thought they had made this and was showing a picture of it, lol. They both make really wonderful projects and are really great virtual blogging friends to have, so go check them out when you get a chance. Thank you again for thinking of me :)

With this award there are a few rules you must follow upon receiving this award. They are as follows:
Thank the individual for the award and link their name back to their blog.
Pass it on to 8 blog friends
Tell 7 Random Facts about myself

So the 8 random people chosen are: ~The two that I received this from would definatley be on this list, but I wouldn't want them to have to do it all over again :) ~

Katieo- Katieo's
Victoria- Victoria's Junk

7 Random Facts about me: Okay, now the hard part is finding something interesting :)

1. I always have to have music on when I craft or anywhere for that matter.
2. I never go barefoot because I don't like anything getting stuck to my feet, even in my house
3. Continued from 2, I never go barefoot in the sand or water because I am afraid I will step on something, it will become imbedded and possibly grow babies (you never know)
4. I can be a little paranoid about things ;)
5. I think Monchichi's are the cutest, they are just so fuzzy and pinchable
6. I always believe that my next project will be my best and favorite, even if I love my current one

You're How Old????

I made this card for the Hambo Hoedown #20- You're only as old as you feel. For this Hoedown challenge you needed to use a Hambo image (I received the image above for free by playing in previous challenges), red, teal and another color (either white, ivory or kraft). I brought in the red through the clothing, the balloons and the shadowing of the sentiment. I hope you can hop over and join, they really have fun images to work with and you can get the for FREE, can't go wrong with that!!! I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful Friday :)

You are berry sweet

I made this card for the Tiddly Inks Challenge #54- Simplify, create a one layered card. For this card I used Minnie's Berry and her freebie sentiment. I do believe I may have spent the same amount of time if not more on the simple card as I would on a multi-layered card. Silly, but true, all the shadowing to give the one layer dimension. Some I did in Photoshop but the rest with pencils. I really should have just did it all in Photoshop and it would have cut down on the time, anyways I am babbling, what I am trying to say is I need to work on simplifying :) Tiddly Inks has such great images to work with that really work by themselves, so I hope you can hop over and challenge yourself to make a one layered card and see what the wonderful DT made!!!

Also, I made this card first and felt like something was missing, but in the meantime I will post it so you can see another wonderful Tiddly image, this one is Alice- time for tea. I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful evening :)

Happy 1st Birthday

I made this card for the A La Card Monkey challenge # 60. Such a simple, beautiful sketch but it was a challenge for me to think on this one. I decided to make a masculine card, I really love the paper from laPomme designs and that is the argyle print I used. I also used a Stamp Fairy image, it goes so perfectly for a 1st birthday. I made another circle in Photoshop and added the sentiment with the number in the middle. Hop over to A La Card Monkey, their sketches never let you down! I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful night :)

It's time for another Celebrate the Occasion challenge and #18's theme is Birthday (must have a party hat). So I made my card with a bunch of party hats! Everyone needs something birthday, there is a birthday everyday right ;) So I hope you can hop over and take a look at what the DT has created and join in on the birthday fun!!! I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful night or day :)

It is Critter Sketch Challenge time and this months sponsor is the wonderful "Stampfairy.com". This weeks challenge is- I love Chocolate, use brown (chocolate brown) as your main focal color. I used the cute "Chubby Cowboy" from Stamp Fairy and the sentiment from "Pigs Cowboy 1". I had to print the sentiment out twice and then turn it to get it up top. I then took my white gel pen and drew a rope to match the sentiment all around. I am also entering this into the Stamp Fairy Challenge- Stamp Fairy with a Masculine Touch. I hope you can hop over to both and join in on the fun challenge, Father's Day is coming so it is a perfect time to do a masculine card! I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful day :)

Congratulations- Throwback Thursday

I made this card for Emma's Throwback Thursday at My Creative Time. You need to use any lite cartridge that you have along with some bling and I chose "Four legged friends". I am not sure if I have even used this cartridge yet, but I saw the little wiener dog and had to make this card. A friend of mine has been trying to breed her two wiener dogs and they finally succeeded so a card is in order, right? The female is black and the male is brown, so I made one of the puppies look like daddy and of course the females have a little bling on their ears. I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful day :)

Digital Tutorial- daughter's card

My 8 year old daughter's card for the video tutorial. We decided that they can enter the challenge, they just can't win the prize. Don't worry, I gave them each a gift card to Michaels for entering and working so hard. It just wouldn't seem fair if they were one of the one's who would have received it, so better not to deal with that predicament ;) Here is her entry and her sister is working hard on hers. I hope you enjoy seeing her creation :)

Benefits of being a woman

A vintage card and a gothic card all in one week, talk about digging into both ends of the challenge scale for me ;) I made this card for the A La Monkey sketch challenge # 59- vintage + sketch. As I said last week, you cannot go wrong with their sketches, they are always terrific. I used the digi and embellishments from "Create with TLC", they have wonderful vintage digi stamps and papers. I still need a lot of work in the vintage arena, but it was really fun to try and I loved coloring it up! I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful night :)

P.S. in case you can't read it the sentiment from " Create with TLC" it says:

Benefits of being a Woman
If we forget to shave, no one has to know... We can fully assess a
person just by looking at their shoes... We have the ability to dress
ourselves... sometimes chocolate truly can solve all your problems...
and you can tell which glass is yours by the lipstick mark.

Coloring Tutorial- 2 of 4 (hair)

Please video 1 of 4 below before watching this one, you might get confused :) http://dilsaverdesigns.blogspot.com/2011/06/coloring-tutorial-1-of-4-digi-challenge.html

I also noticed that the highlights are in the wrong place in some parts of the hair, but I think I got the idea across, sorry, it was really late and I was trying to hurry and be thorough at the same time, sometimes doesn't work real well :)

Coloring Tutorial 1 of 4- digi challenge, skin

This is the beginning of the coloring tutorial for those that wanted to take the plunge and try your hand at digi's and have asked me how I color my images. If you are just coming to this and want to join, how it works is I made up a cute little digi for those that wanted to color along and learn for fun that would incorporate the use of coloring hair, skin and clothing. When the tutorial is over, there will be a link for those that participated to upload it and be entered in for a prize. This is ABSOLUTELY for fun, so please do not shy away, it is to learn basics and get out of your comfort zone because you never know if you will like it until you TRY :) If you want to join in please send me your email or post on this and I will get the digi out to you. REMEMBER have FUN, it is all fun and I hope you enjoy :) I am in NO way an expert, I am just wanting to show a few tips that I know or use in coloring my images. I still have a long, long way to go to keep learning, you can never stop learning. I just don't want people to be scared of the digi world and at least try it and it doesn't have to cost you tons of money. That is why I did it in Crayola pencils, to show it can be done even with those. Anyways, if you have any questions please email or leave a comment and the link to post will be up on the last tutorial video.

Onto video #2, click here.

P.S. No editing was done for any of these videos so I could get them up for you, you are seeing them in the raw. Sorry for that but oh well, it should be fun :)

CTO Pool Party Blog Hop

Welcome to the Celebrate the Occasion's “Pool Party Blog Hop.” If you arrived here from the wonderful Judy Ann's blog you are on the right track. If you are visiting and want to start at the beginning, which I highly recommend so you can enter in all the blog candy J then you will want to start at the Celebrate the Occasion blog. Onto the card/box set J

I decided to make a fun but simple gift set for summer vacation. There are a set of (6) 3x3 minis that fit into the cute little gift box. I made two of each card, that is why you only see the 3 with envelopes to go with them. I had some really great K&Company paper that had really great bright summer colors, so it worked perfectly. With the pop dotted stickers from American Crafts it added height, so if you did flatter ones you could get a lot more into the box or leave room for a small gift on top. The box is made from a 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 piece of card stock and of course the cards that fit into it are the 3 x 3, so with one piece of 12 x 12 card stock you can get 8 cards, yeahhhh!!! So simple and a great gift for anyone :)

Now onto today’s blog candy, it is a mish mash of items from Martha Stewart, Colorbok, American Crafts, etc.. Something for everyone, brads, chipboard, stickers, ribbon and buttons. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and I would absolutely love for you to become a follower but it is not necessary and you will have a chance to win it! Please, Please make sure you leave a way to get a hold of you, if there is not any contact information on your post I will have to re-choose, thank you for understanding. The Blog Hop closes Sunday and the winner for my candy will be picked on Monday the 6th. So that means you will have until midnight on the 5th to leave a comment and a way for me to get a hold of you!!

Now onto your next and final stop and it shall be the fabulous Laverne!

Don’t forget to stop and leave a comment on all the blogs for a chance to win their blog candy, there are some good prizes to be won!! Happy Hopping J

Here is the list of the blog hop line-up just in case you have lost your way:
