Birthday Fishes!!

I first off would just like to wish my oldest daughter Sweet "Birthday Fishes", I know she is reading this and I hope you have a great day!!

Well today we are off and running, it is our very first post as the new September torchbearers for AmberInk. For my card I decided to use a number of different images and ipapers from the AmberInk shop. In the "Best Fishes" set you get 20 different images and the ones I used are fish 1, fish 2, fishing pole, bubble patch and the sentiment. I also chose to use a couple different ipapers that go wonderfully with the scene, "Seaweed Paisley Goldfish" and "Seahorse Paisley Citrus". The "Seahorse Paisley Citrus" is a very pretty yellow color so I put an orange backdrop behind it to make it appear more orange to match the fish. I colored the images with my Prismacolor pencils and added some stickles for shine and dimension. So hop on over and take a look at what all the other torchbearers have created, you won't be disappointed and also take a look at the wonderful goodies in the shop. I hope everyone has a wonderful day and I will chat with you soon :)

CTO #28- Birthday (follow sketch)

It's time for another Celebrate the Occasion challenge and for this week we get to follow a sketch, Challenge #28- Birthday (follow sketch). I chose to use my new Penny Black stamp "Flowers for Mimi" to make a feminine birthday card. I also used some wonderful Colorbok "Neutrals" paper to go along with the pink Bazzill cardstock. I got lazy and faux stitched, which I think it probably would have looked better if it was really stitched, but it's still cute.

So everyone hop over and see what the wonderful DT has done, they are always really amazing and join in on the challenge to win that great gift certificate!! Can't wait to see what you come up with and I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday :)

The blue in this picture is the water, it is so pure that the color comes through so vibrantly :)

The Pen..

I made this bookmark for the Tiddly Inks Challenge- Back to School Bookmark. My thought was to use this cute "A-Plus Avenger" and the "School House" and make it like the Batman call but for school, thus the shadow in the sky. Well my daughter proceeded to ask me how that was possible if it was daytime and I told her that school was in the day so the magic shadow goes up in the morning for the A-Plus Avenger to see. Anyways she wasn't having it, I mean come on, I even used the saying from the movie. Oh well, the eyes of a child, I still think it turned out cute for her. I used my Prismacolors to color it up and added a little A+ border around in hopes that visually it will sink into her brain, lol. Hop on over and see what the wonderful DT has done and take part in the fun challenge, Tiddly Inks really has a lot of great images to work with. I hope you all have a great Thursday :)

SAS 4 Kids new DT member & Challenge

I am just so excited to share with everyone that I am now part of a new DT for Send A Smile 4 Kids. Karen, who I was a fellow DT member with for another blog, came to me and asked me if I would be interested and I honestly had no idea about this wonderful blog. I was completely thrilled to join especially after I found out what it is for. The challenges run every 2 weeks and here is a little information about SAS 4 Kids from their blog: Send A Smile 4 Kids is a charitable blog created for the purpose of collecting donated handmade cards to be distributed to children while they are inpatient at Children’s Hospitals. Currently we are donating them to the Children’s Hospitals in Neenah and Milwaukee, WI. On any given day, there are 50-60 children inpatient in these hospitals so we would love to receive as many cards as you can send to cheer them and their families. The kids may also use your cards as Thank You Notes to the nurses and doctors and others. Any kid's cards are welcome including: birthday, holidays (not religious specific please) and happy any day cards.

Now onto today's card and next challenge:

The next 2 week challenge is #16- Punches and Diecuts for Kids. The challenge sponsor's are Sassy Cheryl's ($5.00 Gift Certificate), Crop Stop ($15.00 Gift Certificate) and The Stamp Shoppe ($15.00 Gift Certificate). I made two cards, for a girl and a boy. Both cards used images from Sassy Cheryl's called, "The Bubble Blower" and "Pumpkin Wagon Boy". I colored them up with Prismacolors and different die cuts and punches were used for both that I have listed in the Recipe below. I hope that all of you can hop over and take a look at this wonderful blog and if you still need more incentive they are actually going to post a picture of me, ugh, so at least you will now know what my crazy mug looks like ;) Have a fabulous Saturday everyone :)

Hope

I made this card for a couple of different challenges. The first is for the Hambo Hoedown Challenge # 29- What's the Score? You need to use a Hambo image and score away with a score tool of some kind. I used the Hambo Stamp image "Geranium" and my Scor-pal and made vertical and horizontal lines on the card and behind the image. I got to use some of my fun crinkle ribbon that I made with my Tim Holtz re-inkers and some perfect pearl spray mist and made it into this fun shape by printing a Cutting cafe frame. Which brings me to my second challenge at Sentimental Sundays- Challenge #68- Shaped cards, plus a sentiment. I used their freebie "Framed Word Sentiments" on their site and lightened a little so it wasn't black. Both are having wonderful challenges, so if you can hop on over and take a look. I hope you all are having a wonderful Friday and we will chat soon :)

Well wishes coming your way- Ryan's Card Drive

Meredith, a Tiddly Ink DT member, has asked for a call for cards for a friend of her brothers who was in a serious accident. Here is a little information on it:

My brother's dear friend and former roommate, Ryan, was involved in an accident on a Saturday afternoon in April 2011 in New Orleans, while riding his bike to meet up with friends. The facts of the accident remain unclear but Ryan did sustain a brain injury. As a side note - Ryan moved from CA to NOLA after Katrina to live there and help/work with the relief efforts to help the citizens of NOLA rebuild. Ya...he's an amazing young man.

So - what am I asking of you? I'm asking you to think of him, send blessings, prayers, white light, love and healing (however you manifest those thoughts and feelings) in the form of cards to send his way. Here is the post that his family put up: Click HERE to read more about it.

For my card I used two different Tiddly Ink images, "Light My Life" and "Shh-Hark". The background papers are Basic Grey digital papers and I used the same layout at as my "Your a Classic" card. I colored it up with my Prismacolors and added in some birds. I hope he enjoys this card, I had a lot of fun making it. If you can take time to send a card, you will be making somebody's day brighter, please go check out the blog information AND to top that off Meredith is giving away digital images from a bunch of different sponsor just for being so kind. It is definitely a win-win situation for everyone, just to know I may have made someone smile makes me happy. I hope all of you have a wonderful Thursday and I will chat with you soon :)

Happy Holidays

I made this card for the Ribbon Carousel Challenge #RCC16-Sketch Challenge. Their sponsor this week is Amber Ink so I used some of their images for this card. I used 6 of the images from the "Tis the Season to be Pretty" package, "Snowflake Lace-Blue-tiny" digital paper, "Starburst-Blue-tiny" digital paper and created the background scene behind her with the snowflake that comes in the "Tis the Season to be Pretty". I colored her up with my Prismacolors and added some Enamel accents in areas on her boots to get the dark shine. Glitter was added to the snow and stickles to the snowflakes behind the image. Hop on over and join in the challenge, it is a great sketch to work with. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day :)

B & W Steampunk Card tutorial

Christy from Tiddly Inks had some people ask about the B&W Steampunk card that I did and how I did it, so she asked me if I did tutorials. I put together this tutorial hoping to help with how it was done. Reminder- I am in no way an expert, I am just showing how I did it (which I consider a cheater method) but with 4 kids you need to work quickly :) Please forgive my loud voice, it was right by my face when I was recording, lol. I hope this helps and if there are any questions please feel free to ask at anytime!! Have a great day :)

I decided to make a "Back 2 School" card because it is DT #1 turn at CTO and the challenge this week is "Back to School", so click HERE to go take a look at their work and join in. Back to the card, I used Stampfairy's cute "Lenny Back to School" image along with the freebie sentiment. I then colored in the windows and continued the scene in a lighter color to make it look like glass. The "Lined paper" and "Back to School" background papers I created and just for fun on the "Back to School" I spelled a few scchool, just to show it is good to go back ;) So hop on over to the Stampfairy challenge and take part, I won last week (Yayyyyyy) so I get to pick THREE digi's, whohooo. Have a Smurfy Day- CTO # 24

It is time to Celebrate the Occasion with Challenge # 24- Kid's Birthday. Well I tell you this was perfect timing. My daughter turns 6 today so we had her party on Sunday and she wanted none other than a Smurf party. Of course I could not find anything, which seems odd because there is a movie out now, so I had to create my own. I found some free images on the internet and created crayon covers, a coloring book and keychains to attach to the all blue goodie bags. The girls got "Smurfette" and the boys got "Papa Smurf". The mushroom card I made using the Cindy Loo cartridge, the grass from the Create-a-Critter cartridge and the door and window from George and Basic Shapes. I drew in the design on the window and the door and the door opens and says "Celebrate Today". She had a fabulous time and she got to be a Smurf for the day (well in her imagination anyway). I hope you all can hop over and join in on the fun challenge and don't forget to take a look at what the fabulous DT has created!! Have a wonderful Tuesday :)

Wishing you a Magical Day

Well I think you all know how much in love I am with Tiddly Inks and the images, so let me tell you how excited I was when I got an email asking me to be the Guest Designer for the month of August. So for my first GD project I made this fun card for Challenge # 60- Under the Sea- gel card, there is a tutorial on the Tiddly site on how to make a gel card.

I used the Tiddly image "Mermaid Miranda", some of the "sea shells" digi stamps from Make it Crafty and the Whimsie Doodles "beach border" for the bottom of the card. The seaweed actually came from the Spongebob Squarepants Cricut Cartridge, which made me laugh, and I inked them up with some Tim Holtz distress inks. I had to create the water background scene in Photoshop along with the bubble sentiment. If anyone has any questions please let me know and I will try and answer them. In the meantime you absolutely have to hop over and check out what the SUPER talented Design Team has created, they always amaze me with their creations, and take part in the fun challenge!! I hope you all have a wonderful night or day :)
